OTHER ENTITIES MEASURES

The aim behind the Supporting the Adventurous Tourism Industry in Gozo through Hiring Equipment Refund scheme, financed by Ministry for Gozo, is to incentivise private operators within the adventure tourism niche to continue investing in sustainable, modern and up-to-standard equipment, while also increasing their capacity.

To be eligible for the Supporting the Adventurous Tourism Industry in Gozo through Hiring Equipment Refund scheme, financed by Ministry for Gozo, the business entity must meet all the criteria established below:

- must be located in Gozo and must be licensed tourism operators/dive-centres, registered with the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA), or must hold a valid operating licence;

- must be in possession of a valid insurance cover recognising its capacity as operator within the particular tourism activity;

- one application is to be submitted per business entity per calendar year.

To be eligible for the Supporting the Adventurous Tourism Industry in Gozo through Hiring Equipment Refund scheme, financed by Ministry for Gozo, recipients can carry out investments in activities within this industry:

- sport;

- development and Provision of Tourism Product.

The call for the Supporting the Adventurous Tourism Industry in Gozo through Hiring Equipment Refund scheme, financed by the Ministry for Gozo, will cover equipment purchased between 2022-07-01 and 2023-12-31

The costs eligible for the Supporting the Adventurous Tourism Industry in Gozo through Hiring Equipment Refund scheme, financed by Ministry for Gozo, are:

- abseiling, rock climbing and bouldering;

- water sports;

- diving;

- cycling;

- segways;

- safety equipment related to adventurous activities.

The funding body does not exclude business entities carrying out any other adventure activities not listed above, depending on their potential contribution to qualitative and sustainable tourism.

The maximum amount for the Supporting the Adventurous Tourism Industry in Gozo through Hiring Equipment Refund scheme, financed by the Ministry for Gozo, will be 50% of the eligible cost, capped up to a maximum of €5,000.

50% of the eligible grant shall be reimbursed as soon as the applicant provides proof of purchase, whereas the remaining 50% of the grant shall be reimbursed after the elapse of one year from the date of purchase and following the receipt of the documentation required.

The type of financing provided by the Supporting the Adventurous Tourism Industry in Gozo through Hiring Equipment Refund scheme, financed by the Ministry for Gozo, is in the form of cash grant.

The funding body for Supporting the Adventurous Tourism Industry in Gozo through Hiring Equipment Refund scheme is the Ministry for Gozo.
