BUSINESS ENHANCE

The SME Internationalisation Grant Scheme in Malta, financed by Business Enhance, is intended to facilitate the process towards the internationalisation of SMEs through active participation at International Business Promotion Fairs.

To be eligible for the SME Internationalisation Grant Scheme in Malta, financed by Business Enhance, the applicant must be micro, small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in an economic activity, irrespective of their legal form, referred to as the ‘undertaking’.

To be eligible for the SME Internationalisation Grant Scheme in Malta, financed by Business Enhance, recipients must carry out at least one of the following activities:

- active participation in International Business Promotion Fairs held outside the territory of the Republic of Malta, where active participation means having a stand and exhibiting products/services at the fair;

- internationalisation of the undertaking (introducing products and services into new markets and strengthening the international market presence);

- participation at Business Promotion Fairs held as part of Trade Missions abroad may also be supported under the scheme.

The call for the SME Internationalisation Grant Scheme in Malta, financed by Business Enhance, expires on 2023-12-31, subject to the availability of funds.

The costs eligible for the SME Internationalisation Grant Scheme in Malta, financed by Business Enhance, are:

- participation fee;

- rental of the exhibition space/stand;

- services related to the construction and setting-up of the stand;

- travel costs for a maximum of 2 employees/directors representing the Enterprise and managing the stand/exhibition space at the fair based on the travel distance;

- per diem allowance for a maximum of 2 employees/directors representing the Enterprise and managing the stand/exhibition space at the fair;

 - costs related to the design and printing of branding material required for the participation at the fair;

- costs for shipment of exhibits.

The maximum amount of aid that may be provided by the SME Internationalisation Grant Scheme in Malta, financed by Business Enhance, to an undertaking shall not exceed €10,000 part-financing eligible costs up to 50%. 

The type of financing provided by the SME Internationalisation Grant Scheme in Malta, financed by Business Enhance, is a non-repayable grant.
